Consumer Direct Care Network Virginia - Newsletter
Happy New Year from Consumer Direct Care Network Virginia (CDVA)!We have some exciting updates and changes happening at CDVA, and we’re looking forward to sharing them with you!
It's Tax Time!
As we prepare for tax season, please keep the following reminders in mind:
Attendants must update their W-4 and VA-4 tax forms by February 15, 2026.
W-2 forms will be available through ADP on or before January 31, 2026. A paper copy of the W-2 will also be mailed to the address on file. Please remind Attendants to verify their mailing address in the DirectMyCare portal.
If EORs or Attendants have additional questions about W-2s, please visit the CDVA website for more information.
Top 3 EVV Compliance Questions
We continue to focus on Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) compliance for all non-live-in caregivers. Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.
Q: The Attendant submitted all shifts using the CareAttend app. Why are they receiving EVV non-compliant notifications?
A: If any changes are made to a shift—whether in the CareAttend app or the DirectMyCare portal—the shift becomes non-compliant and will trigger EVV non-compliance communications.
Q: If the Attendant does not have Wi-Fi during their shift, can they still use the CareAttend app?
A: Yes. An internet connection is not required to clock in and out. However, an internet connection is needed to submit time to the Employer of Record (EOR).
Q: Does the Attendant need GPS enabled to use the CareAttend app?
A:Yes. GPS must be enabled in order to clock in and out.
DirectMyCare Portal Update
You may have noticed that the DirectMyCare portal looks a little different. We’ve updated the layout to make it more mobile-friendly. All previous functions are still available, though some may be located in new areas of the portal. We’re also excited to announce the launch of the Packet Status Screen in the new portal! This new feature allows you to:
Check the status of your enrollment packets
See if any corrections are needed
Below is a link to training materials on the CDVA website that explain the portal updates and available features. Please be on the lookout for additional trainings and resources specifically for the Packet Status Screen coming soon.
Attendants and EORs must submit and approve all shifts within 30 days of the date worked. Shifts submitted after 30 days require a 30-day exception request before payment can be issued.
Exceptions may only be approved for the following reasons:
- Authorization Delay
- Criminal Background Check Delay
- Eligibility Delay
- Enrollment Delay
Requests that do not meet one of these criteria will be denied.
